In the men’s triathlon, Axel Zeebroek took 13th place. The Belgian was leading the race for quite some time, during the cycling.
“I could hardly believe I was able to keep the lead for quite some time during the running”, the Belgian said.
The favourites waited until the finishing 10 km run to throw their cards on the table. Germany’s Jan Fodreno took the gold. Another Belgian, Peter Croes, finished 27th.
