Kim Gevaert didn’t get to meet her ultimate dream. The Olympic final of the 100 metres didn’t happen for her. Everything was in her favor on Saturday, a draw that wasn’t too hard, beautiful times in the quarter and semi finals, but she didn’t seem in the same good shape like yesterday. Gevaert was sixth to reach the finish with a moderate time of 11:30.
With the time she ran yesterday during the semi-finals should she could have easily gone to the finals. She didn’t write Belgian history (she could have been the first Belgian sportswoman to reach an Olympic 100 metres final), but will still continue to fight for a place in the 200 metres- and the 4×100 m relay finals.

Why did Kim not start in the last 200m race?
